I’ve never owned any lighting made by Robert Stevenson, but I would’ve probably bought this cool mid century styled chandelier if I saw it at a home center or big box store. It’s styled much nicer than most of the stuff they sell at those kinds of stores, but it’s not without a few flaws. First, you may need a different junction box in your ceiling if it’s going where there previously was not a larger fixture. In my case, it went over a kitchen table that already had a larger five light two chained fixture that needed the larger box. This big boy weighs over 11 pounds when installed, so keep that in mind. Another drawback was the bulbs. It can’t take higher than a 60 watt bulb per globe, which is fine in most rooms, but you will not find the smaller chandelier style candle flame bulbs this fixture uses in those higher wattages. You’re lucky to find 25 to 40 watt bulbs and they’re fine as there is five globes, but my old fixture used the full sized bulbs up to 75 watts and just seemed brighter to me…although there were at least two bulbs always burned out. Overall however, this is a lovely, well made and well-crafted fixture that I am happy to have, and one that will present very well in my home for years to come.
